An elegant Attic terracotta kylix, with D-shaped loop handles and a low ring foot. The body is glazed inside and out with a reserved area between the handles, the lower edge of the ring foot and on the underside, the centre containing a series of black whirl.
Circa 4th century BC.
Condition: Very Fine; black glaze eroded in small areas, more so on the inside.
Diameter: across handles 21.7 cms (8.5 ins).
Height: 7 cms (2.75 ins).
The Kylix was commonly used in Ancient Greece as a wine-drinking cup.
