A Holy Land decorated terracotta bowl. The vessel has a wide, slightly out-turned rim, decorated below the rim with four groups of six raised lugs in a row. Standing on a flat base.


Early Bronze age Palestine: Circa 3000-2500 BC.


Complete and intact with fine fabric and light accretions Diameter at rim 24.2cms (9.5 ins).


Amongst the earliest of civilisations which flourished in the barren Bible lands, the peoples of the Early Bronze Age who built the first cities produced pottery without the aid of a wheel, which was beautifully and simply crafted.
