A Holy Land storage jar. The vessel has a wide, slightly out-turned rim, a short neck decorated with a repeated pattern a band of dots in relief just below the rim. Standing on a flat base.

Early Bronze age Palestine: Circa 3100-2900 BC.


Complete and intact with light accretions; a very small chip to edge of rim.

Height 20.4 cms (8 ins).


Amongst the earliest of civilisations which flourished in the barren Bible lands, the peoples of the Early Bronze Age who built the first cities produced pottery without the aid of a wheel, which was beautifully and simply crafted.
