A small Old Babylonian pillow-shaped clay tablet with three lines of cuneiform writing on one side, being a memorandum concerning a loan: '1 talent, 14 1/2 shekels for month 'work of Inanna' 3rd day.

Circa 2000-1800 BC.


Fine condition; one piece re-joined, otherwise fine with good stable fabric.

Size: 36 x 34 mms (1.4 x 1.3 ins)


There is an accompanying note with description as stated above, signed by Professor Lambert Provenance: From a British 1980's-1990's collection of cuneiform which was examined in the 1980s by Professor Lambert, Professor of Archaeology at Birmingham University.
