A Roman terracotta oil lamp of Bailey type B group IV with volutes and rounded nozzle; discus decorated with a bull running right. The base bears the maker's name L MADIEC an Italic maker with branches in northern Africa active 90-140 AD.

Northern Africa: Circa 4th-5th AD.


NB. Not supplied with stand.


The base cracked and repaired in several places; surface glaze worn, otherwise Very Fine condition.

Length 11 cms (4.3 ins).
