A Roman bronze chest lock hasp in the form of a herm figure, with stylised male genitalia adorning the midsection; incised decoration to headdress; openwork rectangular plate to the back of the base, for use on a chest to secure the lid.

Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.


Condition: Good metalwork patinated deep-green, missing the loop at the top.

Height 11.2 cms (4.4 ins)
