Finely cast bronze crowned Buddha, adorned with a necklace and armlets, the face with a serene expression marked by heavy-lidded eyes below gently arched brows, his full lips forming a subtle smile, flanked by elongated lobes suspending pendeloque earrings, the hair arranged in a high conical chignon behind the foliate tiara. Supplied with modern display stand.
Thai Ayutthaya: circa 16th-17th century
Condition: Extensive wear, obvious losses, signs of weathering and erosion. The bronze with a fine, naturally grown, dark patina.
Height 14 cms (5.5 ins): Height with stand 19 cms (7.5 ins)
Provenance: From a private estate in southern France.
