A fine example of a Luristan spearhead, cast in bronze. The spearhead has a leaf shaped blade with a prominent central mid-rib which extends to form a square-section tang. The tang flares outwards at the ricasso and forms a small guard above the relatively short tang. The spearhead is covered with a beautiful green patination.

Luristan Iron age: Circa 1200-800 BC.

Complete and intact; Very fine, nicely preserved, with a dark green patina; good stable bronze.

Length 36.1 cms (14.2 ins)
