A Ming jar with moulded decoration of a dragon to each side, against a background of waves and clouds with lotus leaf patterns around the base. The outer surface, and inner mouth, are coated in a finely crackled turquoise glaze of very good colour with underlying pale cream-coloured pottery.

 

Chinese Ming Dynasty: Circa 1368 to 1644 AD

 

Good overall condition; complete and intact, with expected wear and minor chips to the edges.

Height: 21.3 cms (8.4 ins).

 

Provenance: From the collection of The Late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton, acquired circa 1990s.
