During the brief Amarna period (c. 1353-1336 BCE), innovations in faience technology led to a new core composition which allowed artisans to manipulate the material into finer, more intricate, and delicate forms, resulting in vibrant, polychrome jewellery incorporating a range of colours. Later period beads were more standardised, with shapes and colours that were thicker and more repetitive.
