An elegant blue-green faience offering cup. The vessel is conical in form with a flaring foot and shallow inner cavity.
Egyptian New Kingdom to Ptolemaic period: Circa 1200-30 BC.
Complete and intact.
Height 4.3 cms (1.7 ins).
Provenance: Ex Katy Williams Pars Antique 1980's
These offering cups contained the various sacred perfumed oils that were used during both funeral and daily rites. This little cup would have been a part of an offering tray where it would have been set on a base with similar vessels containing various sacred unguents.
