A superb funerary button scarab in turquoise blue faience. The scarab is naturalistically modelled, with a loop on the bottom for sewing onto the bandage of the mummy.
Egyptian Late Dynasty: Circa 7th-6th century BC.
Condition: Complete and intact. Very Fine; with a few light accretions.
Length 2.5 cms (1 inch).
Provenance: From the Gustave Mustaki collection, a collector of antiquities who amassed large collection in Alexandria (Egypt) in the early 20th century and his collection came to the UK under Egyptian licence in 1947.
