A very fine Egyptian steatite scarab depicting a man and a crocodile. The obverse displays a head and a body, with the body divided into prothorax and elytra which are divided into two further sections. The sides of the scarab feature deep carving to outline its legs. The reverse shows a man holding a crocodile in his left arm. The scarab is pierced longitudinally for suspension.
Egyptian New Kingdom: Circa 1570-1070 BC.
Very fine condition: minor encrustations and signs of wear as consistent with age.
