A steatite Egyptian scarab amulet with incised features. The top is carved with the detailed anatomy of a scarab, including a moulded head and clypeus. The base is carved with three columns of hieroglyphs: cnh (life), w3h (enduring), nfr (beauty) in the centre. At the sides, a uraeus, a Horus falcon, and a badly made nb sign.
Egyptian Hyksos period: Circa 1786-1567 BC.
