A fine example of a Luristan spearhead, cast in bronze. Cast in one piece, the spearhead has an ovate, leaf-shaped blade with gently curved shoulders, a central raised mid-rib. And a relatively short tang, tapering to a short curved end. The spearhead is covered with a beautiful green patination.

 

Iron Age Luristan: Circa 1200-800 BC.

 

Complete and intact; Very fine, nicely preserved, with a dark green patina; good stable bronze.

Length 28.2 cms (11 ins)

 

Provenance: Ex French collection and Paris gallery, pre-1990's.
