A terracotta female figure, depicted nude but for a mantle draped over her left arm, right forearm, and left leg, the excess drapery falling between her legs. She is shown standing, whilst leaning with her left arm upon a herm, her hair arranged in a melon-coiffure surmounted by an ivy fillet, traces of pigment preserved.

 

Greek Canosan, Hellenistic Period: Circa 3rd Century BC.

 

Complete and intact

Height 19.5 cms (7.7 ins)

 

Provenance: Private collection, UK; acquired from Galerie Athéna, Brussels on 9 May 1986; and thence by descent to the present owner.
