A pretty little Corinthian pottery alabastron. The vessel has a wide flat rim with a single flat strap handle extending to the shoulders, and a bulbous body tapers to the narrow flat base. The alabastron is decorated in orange with a pattern of concentric circles of varying thickness, with a row of Sigma-like patterns around the shoulders.
Ancient Greece, Corinth: Circa 6th century BC.
Condition: Very Fine generally; a little restoration to the lip; body intact, some wear to parts of the decoration.
