A high-quality and scarce Greek Attic black-glazed Type VI oinochoe. The vessel has a sharply angled 'reel' body and an arching handle extending from the rim to the carinated shoulder.
Ancient Attic mainland Greece: 5th century BC.
Complete and intact: A couple of very minor rubs to the glaze in the high spots and minor pin-prick chips to the body, but otherwise in Very Fine condition with a high gloss, deep black glaze.

Provenance: UK art gallery, previously acquired on the Dutch art market. Before that, acquired from Hugo Lievens, Brussels 1982.
