An unusually fine Early Bronze Age Holy Land terracotta juglet with twin handles. The vessel has a plain, slightly flaring rim, short neck leading to the rounded body, and stands on a flattened base. The fabric is very fine with good clean surfaces.
Early Bronze age Palestine: Circa 3100-2900 BC.
Complete and intact.
Height 10.4 cms (4.1 ins).

Amongst the earliest of civilisations which flourished in the barren Bible lands, the peoples of the Early Bronze Age who built the first cities produced pottery, which was beautifully and simply crafted.
