A pretty necklace composed of matched Egyptian faience beads of tube and disc form, with a small central faience amulet depicting the god, Bes, wearing his tall, plumed headdress. The beads have been restrung with modern gold-plated spacer beads, wire and gold-plated clasp and loops.
Late Dynastic period: Circa 7th-1st century BC
Very Fine condition
Total necklace length 44.2 cms (17.4 ins) including the fastener.
Provenance: S. Gabbay collection, Israel, brought to the UK circa 1975, and thence by descent to the previous owner.
