A well-preserved Phrygian bronze fibula brooch. The fibula has an integral two loop spring at one end, a gently curving bow and a snake's head terminal at the other. The fibula is a simplified form of the "Arm & Hand" type.
Circa 8th-6th Century BC.
Condition: Very Fine: complete and intact.
Length 4.4 cms (1.7 ins).
Provenance: Ex German private collection 1980's-1990's.

The fibula was an ancient brooch. Their function was not only decorative, but they also originally served a practical function, to fasten clothing such as cloaks.
