An Egyptian turquoise faience offering cup with dark blue inscription which name the contents. The vessel has a shallow bowl with a plain rim, narrows towards the fluted foot, and stands on a flat base.
Ancient Egyptian Ptolemaic Period: circa 332-30 BC.
Very Fine condition; the rim with minor chipping to the edge; the body with accretions over the lower part.

Egyptian offering cups were used in both funerary and daily rituals to hold sacred perfumed oils and unguents. The inscriptions on the cups often named their contents, which were highly valued and symbolic in ancient Egyptian culture.
