A well-preserved Roman P-shaped bronze fibula brooch with a spring at the top. The brooch has an arched bow, decorated with geometric motifs and a foot which loops round and incorporates the integral catch plate.
Roman: Circa 2nd - 3rd Century AD
Condition: Very Fine; complete and intact with good bronze.
Length 4.3 cms (1.7 ins).
Provenance: Ex German private collection 1980's-1990's.

The fibula was an ancient brooch. Their function was not only decorative, but they also originally served a practical function, to fasten clothing such as cloaks.
