A Roman glass unguentarium with an out-turned rim, short neck and a tubular body decorated with fluted columnar indentations. The bottle has a flattened base.

 

Roman eastern empire: Circa 1st-3rd Century AD.

 

Condition: Complete and intact, with much of the surface covered with an attractive, silvery iridescence; a few light accretions.

Height 7.25 cms (2.85 ins).

 

Provenance: Purchased from UK collection of P.C. 1990-2010
