A fine Roman very pale blue translucent glass flask. The vessel has a plain rim and slender neck with a feint glass spiral trail, below which is the piriform body, which has been enhanced with a turquoise-coloured trail decoration around the waist. The flask stands on a flattened base, indented towards the centre. Areas of attractive iridescence to the surface and a few light accretions.
Roman: Circa 4th-5th Century AD.
Condition: Complete and intact.
Height 12.4 cms (4.9 ins).
Provenance: Ex Yoav Simon collection Ramat Hasharon, Israel, acquired 2002. Exported with export approval licence of the Israel Antiquities Authority.
