A Roman pale blue glass jar with a wide everted rim, and standing on a flattened base, indented towards the centre. The jar is decorated below the rim with an applied zig-zag trail, below which are five pinched projections. Areas of weathering and iridescence.

 

Circa 4th Century AD.

 

Condition: Very Fine, complete and intact

Width 7.3 cms (2.9 ins)

 

#Provenance: Ex collection of Mr. and Mrs. S., Ghent, Belgium. Acquired from Het Magazijn, Ghent, in January 2013.
