A fine Ancient Roman flagon in light orange terracotta redware. The vessel has a wide flared rim below which a strap handle of flattened section with grooves, which extends to the shoulders. The upper part of the body is decorated with four lightly applied rouletted bands. The flagon stands on a low ring foot.

Very Fine condition, complete and intact though minor rim chips.

By the 3rd century AD, African red slip ware was the most popular type of tableware in the Roman Empire.
