A Roman provincial pottery flagon, probably for wine, in a pale orange terracotta. The vessel has a broad rim on a tubular neck, with a ribbed strap handle extending from the middle of the neck to the shoulders. The vessel stands on a small ring base.
Roman Rhineland Germany: Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
Complete and intact; with stoney accretions remaining.
Height 16.4 cms (6.5 ins).
