An elegant pair of Tang Dynasty terracotta pottery offerants. Each standing figure is dressed in robes with long sleeves, wearing a headdress. Each figure has their hands clasped in front, with a small recess to hold an offering or incense stick for the owner in the afterlife. Good facial details and remains of the original pigmentation.
Tang Dynasty: Circa 618-906 AD.
Condition: Complete and intact.
Height 21 and 22 cms respectively (8.3 and 8.6ins).
Ex London gallery: previously in a private Somerset collection and purchased in Bath 1990's.
