A good-sized Jalisco Ameca group type pottery seated female figure. She is dressed in a skirt, her left hand on back of head, right hand extended. She has an incised hairdo and wearing a simple nose ring and ear ornaments. Some remaining black painted geometric tattooing on face, body and breasts.
Pre-Columbian Jalisco, West Mexico: Proto-Classic Period: Circa 100 BC - 250 AD.
Very Fine condition: complete and intact, with strong scattered mineral deposits on the surface; some minor but normal losses to the painted surface.

Provenance: Private Southern, CA. collection, ex. Clifford Baker collection, San Diego, collected 1960's.
